Actors, Models, Musicians, Business Men and Women, at some point in your career, you will need photography. Wether it is for headshots, publicity portraits, album cover, corporate headshot or modeling portfolio, you will end up under the eye of the camera. And it can be intimidating. And if you’re not comfortable, it’ll show in your pictures. So what can you do?
Choose your photographer wisely!
It is important that you have a good positive connection with your photographer, that you trust he can do the job well and give you what you need. So how do you choose?
Know what you want! Too often, we encounter clients who have no idea what they want, thus making it tricky for the photographer to give you an appropriate quote and to deliver the right product for you. Know what you need and want so you can describe it accurately to the photographer you contact.
Find a photographer. Honestly, the best way to do this is asking around and getting referrals. Word of mouth is a great way to get comfortable because you’re not just “cold calling” someone about whom you know nothing. Talk to other people in your industry. Who did they use as photographer and were they satisfied? You can also search online: google “photographer – your city – what you need”. That should give you quite an extensive list, but then you’ll have to sort through the crooks and beginners to find the pros.
Do your homework! Get on the photographer’s website, look at his/her portfolio. Do you like his/her work? Is it the style of photography that you want for your project?
Get in touch with the photographer and have a real conversation. Yes, person to person, not just via email or text. You need to talk to the photographer so you can have a feel of his/her personality.
Ideally you should meet with the photographer in person, check out his place. Is his studio clean and tidy? Is he professional and polite? How does he make you feel? Does he validate you or invalidate you? This is a great opportunity to discuss in details and with visuals what is needed and wanted, and to make sure that you get along with the photographer.
What if I don’t feel comfortable with him/her? Easy. Move on! Find another photographer and start over at step 2. There are hundreds and hundreds of photographers out there. There will be one that you will like, I guarantee it!
At Theta Creata Productions, we love to serve you to the best of our abilities. Tim Sabatino has been a professional photographer for over 20 years. He will take the time to listen to you and understand your needs so as to deliver the perfect product!
Joy Villa!!! She’s super smart, she’s beautiful, she’s determined and she’s going to hit it big!
Joy Villa is an actress, a singer-songwriter, a musician, an actress, a writer, a nutrition coach and now a bodybuilder competitor. This girl is on fire and she is capable of everything!
Joy is a power house. When she puts her mind on something, she makes it happen. And more than just happen, she becomes successful at it! For example, Joy signed up for her first bodybuilding competition a couple months ago. She worked really hard for weeks to transform her body, all while remaining healthy, which can be tricky in the world of bodybuilding with all the false data about building muscle and being vegan. The competition was this weekend: Not only did she reach her goal and participated, she did so with honors as she left the stage with not one but two trophies!!!
Joy has already written several books: Poems by the Princess was published in 2013, and The Fit And Sexy Vegan just got published this year. It is a nutritional program that teaches the basics of a healthy body, mind and lifestyle. Joy loves to inspire and help others, and she does so through coaching. As a vegan athlete, she is proof that no one needs meat to have enough protein and that the vegan way of life is actually one of the most ethical there is.
Tim Sabatino met Joy Villa at a self-improvement seminar on New Year’s Eve 2011. They immediately became friends. Her positive attitude and her love for life and people are her most communicable characteristics, and it’s simply impossible to not love her at once. Joy assisted Tim on the Kasem Diaries photo shoot that he did with Kerri Kasem in 2012 (Click here to read about that collaboration), shooting and editing the behind the scenes video, which you can watch below.
Tim later photographed Joy for his Sensuelle fine art photography collection.
Joy Villa is engaged to Danish photographer Thorsten Von Overgaard.

Most of us know who Robert Shapiro is since he defended O.J. Simpson in 1995. But some people are unaware of his ambition as a humanitarian and his love for art.
Robert Shapiro was part of the “Dream Team” of lawyers who defended O.J. Simpson when he was accused of the murders of his wife and her friend. The team successfully got him off for “reasonable doubt”, but after that case Robert Shapiro decided to steer away from criminal defense and to focus on civil litigation. Shapiro was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1969 and throughout his long and – still – successful career has represented many athletes and celebrities, such as Daryl Strawberry, Vince Coleman, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Linda Lovelace and the Kardashians. In civil matters, he represents Wynn Resorts, Eva Longoria, RockStar and Diamond Resorts International among many others. Robert Shapiro has written many books on the subject of law.
Robert Shapiro is the co-founder of LegalZoom and ShoeDazzle, two very successful companies.
All those successes are proof of a great ethical behavior, but what’s most amazing about Robert Shapiro is his desire to help others. In 2006, Robert and his wife Linell created the Brent Shapiro Foundation for Alcohol and Drug Awareness after their son Brent was found dead from an overdose. The Foundation strives to raise awareness for all, but focusing on kids and teenagers, since they are the most vulnerable and will eventually be confronted to drugs and alcohol. The Foundation supports Brent’s Club, a program that mentors kids from middle school to high school, before they get to experiment with drugs. The program is based on a reward system that validates the kids’ commitment to remain sober. The Brent Shapiro Foundation also participated in the publication of two children’s books, Somo Says No for children aged 4 to 8 and David’s Discovery for children 8 to 12. The books are dedicated to starting the dialogue about drugs and alcohol between children and their parents, and helping kids understand that it’s ok to say no.
What is probably the least known about Robert Shapiro is his love for art. He has a large collection of art in his house, including a masterpiece by painter Tim Sabatino. The giant original painting is of the monk from whom Tim Sabatino studied Buddhism in a monastery in Thailand. Limited edition reproductions of the masterpiece are available upon request at info@thetacreata.com
Every year, Robert Shapiro and the Brent Shapiro Foundation organize the Summer Spectacular gala, during which funds are raised to push forward drug and alcohol awareness. The event hosts 700 A-list personalities and auctions multiple pieces of art, from rare photographs and paintings to jewelry and couture dresses. As a family friend and an avid supporter of the cause, Tim Sabatino donated one of his masterpieces, “Red”, to be auctioned at the event. This year he will be donating yet another one of his paintings.
